“Meet the Musicians” New Concert Series Begins Feb 15
In cooperation with our co-sponsor, the South Wedge Mission, The Highland Park Neighborhood Association is pleased to announce a new series of free events entitled “Meet the Musicians”.
Our 2014 series includes four winter and spring events starting on February 15, 2014 and continuing until May 3, 2014. All concert events will take place in the South Wedge Mission at 125 Caroline St. Concerts will include music performances, opportunities to socialize and interactive segments led by the musicians. Two of the events will feature Classical Music and the other two will include performances by local Singers & Songwriters whose music spans several modern genres. The series is titled “Meet the Musicians” because each event includes interaction with the musicians in the form of descriptions of the music being played, listening tips and/or question and answer periods. Light refreshments will be served at intermission which also will provide a few minutes to meet and greet the musicians plus other residents and friends.
This year’s events are being programmed with the assistance of two local musicians who are both performers and educators.
Jerry Falzone is a local musician who is in the process of releasing his third album. His record “Just Before The Storm“, released in 2011, can be sampled at his website. Jerry is also a promoter of local musicians and that includes being an enthusiastic supporter of other Rochester based songwriters, singers and musicians across many genres of modern music. Mr. Falzone has previously designed several other musical series across the local region.

These events are designed as family friendly for area residents and are open to all members of the local community. Parents are advised that young children may not have the patience for some of the longer pieces to be performed. Events Are Free. However donations towards both the Arts & Cultural activities of the HPNA as well as in support of The South Wedge Mission will be accepted. In addition, attendees may also drop off items for The Rochester Free Store as well as non-perishable canned foods for the SWM emergency relief cupboard.
